Downloading the Software

Very Important!

• Students DO NOT need to sign up for a GatherPlace account.
• Always download the newest version except for special cases.
• Go to the Help menu on GP4 to check for updates often.

Testing Your Computer

Before You Test

• Make sure your computer meets the System Requirements.
• Get all the recommended Windows UpdatesOpen Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, and select Windows Update. or Apple Software UpdatesGo to the Apple menu and select Software Update....
• Download the newest version of the GatherPlace software.

Audio Test

1. Plug in your headset into the proper jacks.
2. Double-click the GP4 icon
3. On the GP4 window, click the Audio Tuning Wizard button.
4. On the Audio Tuning Wizard, click Start Test.
5. If you hear the voice recording, click Yes.
   Otherwise, click No until you can hear the recording.
6. If you hear the second recording, click Yes.
   Otherwise, click No and increase your speaker volume.
7. For the third test, speak into your headset or microphone.
8. If you hear yourself echo back, click Yes.
   Otherwise, click No until you can hear yourself echo back.
9. Once you have passed all the tests, close the Audio Tuning Wizard.

Viewer Test

1. Plug in your headset into the proper jacks.
2. Click here to view the presentation test. You should see the presentation and hear the accompanying audio.
3. Once the presentation is over, click Disconnect Everyone to end the test.
4. If you see the presentation, but do not hear the audio, please perform the Audio Test (above) again and make sure your audio devices are configured properly.
